The 51st annual Twin Cities Pride Festival was held at Loring Park and Parade Park in Minneapolis June 23 – 25, 2023 and featured local BIPOC and LGBTQ+ vendors, food courts, a beer garden, and music stages. At the SPEAK MPLS booth, we asked the question, "What does Pride mean to you?" Hear what our community had to say!

In June 2023, we opened our studio doors to celebrate and honor the people, places, actions and voices that have shaped the community through a new storytelling campaign Elevate Pride Stories as part of our AMPLIFY MPLS original series that premiered on SPEAK MPLS TV and at this year’s Twin Cities Pride festival. We hope that capturing the stories and history across generations of Pride gatherings will inspire others to share their stories, because it is critical that LGBTQ+ stories are elevated, for all to celebrate.

ELECT MPLS is a TV series created by SPEAK MPLS that aims to foster connections between Minneapolis residents, candidates, and elected officials by providing voter and candidate information, interviews, town halls, and more. The inaugural episode of ELECT MPLS introduces the 2023 Minneapolis City Council candidates, showcasing their 3-minute messages to the public.

The Community Connections Conference is an annual free event that connects residents of Minneapolis, community groups, neighborhoods and local government. We asked participants at the 2023 Community Connections Conference one simple question: What is your dream for Minneapolis?
